Chhattisgarh High Court Commemorates 25 Years of Dedicated Service to Justice and Rule of Law

The High Court of Chhattisgarh today on 1st November 2025, on the occasion of 25th Anniversary celebrated the “Establishment Day” with a commemorative function held at the Unity Hall, High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur. The solemn programme commenced with the rendition of the National Anthem and the Chhattisgarh State Song, evoking a spirit of unity, pride, and reverence for the Nation and the State. The event was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, marking the auspicious beginning of the celebration.

The event marked a significant milestone in the Court’s illustrious journey since its establishment, reflecting upon its evolution into a pillar of justice and institutional strength in the State. The celebration underscored the High Court’s steadfast commitment to upholding the rule of law, ensuring access to justice and promoting Judicial excellence.

The occasion was graced by the august presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay S. Hon’ble the Chief Justice, in his keynote address, commenced his remarks with the traditional greeting, “Jai Johar” extending warm wishes to all present and expressing his deep satisfaction on the momentous occasion.

He emphasized that the true strength of the institution lies in its people — the Judges, Judicial Officers, Members of the Bar and Judicial Employees — whose dedication, discipline and sense of duty form the foundation of the High Court. Acknowledging the Bar as an “equal partner in this journey” he highlighted that mutual trust and cooperation between the Bench and the Bar have been instrumental in upholding the quality and credibility of justice delivery in the State.

Reflecting on the 25-year journey of the High Court, Hon’ble the Chief Justice lauded the remarkable progress achieved since its inception — not only through advancements in infrastructure and judicial processes but also through the successful integration of technology, which has made justice more efficient and accessible to the citizens of Chhattisgarh. Hon’ble the Chief Justice further stated that the occasion calls for reflection and renewed commitment to the principles of independence, integrity, and service to the nation. He extended warm greetings to the entire High Court fraternity — former Chief Justices and Judges, Sister and Brother Judges, Judicial Officers, Members of the Bar and Judicial Employees — appreciating their invaluable contributions in upholding the dignity, traditions and legacy of the High Court of Chhattisgarh.

In a step toward strengthening judicial infrastructure and improving working conditions, Hon’ble the Chief Justice virtually inaugurated the newly constructed Lawyers’ Hall at the Civil Court, Kurud and Lawyers’ Hall along with the Branch Post Office at the District Court, Dhamtari. He observed that these facilities would enhance convenience for the Bar, litigants, and court staff, thereby enriching the working environment of the district judiciary. Hon’ble the Chief Justice noted that such initiatives, though modest, reflect the High Court’s commitment to accessible and efficient justice delivery.

The Special Address was delivered by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and the Introductory Address was presented by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay S. Agrawal, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh.

The programme commenced with the welcome address delivered by the Registrar General, and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Director, Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants for their presence and contributions to the success of the celebration.
