Chhattisgarh HC Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha Virtually Inaugurates Digitization Centres at Rajnandgaon, Kawardha, Balod, and Mungeli Courts

18th June, 2025: In a significant step towards the modernization of  the State judiciary, Digitization Centres at the District & Sessions Courts of Rajnandgaon, Kawardha, Balod, and Mungeli were ceremonially inaugurated via virtual mode on 18th June 2025. The event marked a pivotal advancement in the Chhattisgarh judiciary’s ongoing commitment to transparency, administrative efficiency, and seamless access to justice.

The august occasion was presided over by Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, whose visionary stewardship has continually propelled the judicial system towards comprehensive digital transformation. His Lordship virtually inaugurated the digitization Centres  at the District & Sessions Courts of Rajnandgaon, Kawardha, Balod, and Mungeli and delivered a keynote address that was evocative of institutional progress.

Joining His Lordship were Hon’ble Shri Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Chairman, Computerization Committee. The Hon’ble Judges of the High Court, including Portfolio Judges of respective Districts and Members of the Computerization Committee, Registrar General, Officers of the High Court Registry witnessed the programme through the virtual link provided.

Also present were the Principal District & Sessions Judges, Judicial Officers, District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police, Office-bearers of Bar Associations, Members of Digitization Teams, and Court personnel from the respective Districts.

In his inaugural address, Hon’ble the Chief Justice expressed his satisfaction on the successful completion of digitization in 19 districts and appreciated the dedicated efforts of all stakeholders involved in achieving this significant milestone. His lordship further informed that the digitization work in the remaining 4 districts is underway and shall be completed shortly. His lordship underscored the indispensable role of digitization in fortifying the justice delivery mechanism and highlighted that the establishment of these Digitization Centres constitutes a significant stride in our endeavour to integrate robust technological frameworks into judicial administration. These Centres are envisaged to function as secure repositories of judicial records, thereby substantially augmenting efficiency, data accessibility, and procedural integrity and hence all records could be transmitted to the High Court through digitized means reducing the need of physical messengers for the transmission of records from District Judiciary. The initiative resonates with our aspiration to evolve into a paperless, expeditious, and citizen-centric judicial system.

Hon’ble the Chief Justice further lauded the concerted efforts of the District Judiciary and the Committee on Computerization, whose proactive oversight ensured the timely execution of the project. His Lordship expressed optimism regarding the enduring impact of such initiatives in enhancing institutional accountability and public trust.

The proceedings commenced with a welcome address by Smt. Sushma Sawant, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajnandgaon, followed by a curated audio-visual presentation showcasing the infrastructure and operational capacity of the Digitization Centres.

The programme concluded with a gracious vote of thanks proposed by Smt. Satyabhama Ajay Dubey, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Kawardha, who expressed deep appreciation to the Hon’ble the Chief Justice, Hon’ble Judges, administrative functionaries, and technical teams whose unwavering dedication brought the vision to fruition.
