Bail rejected of a son who killed his own Parents

The Calcutta High Court on 18th March 2021 rejected the bail plea of a person who was arrested for killing his own parents.

 According to the counsel on behalf of the petitioner, the case arose from a dispute pertaining to the demarcation of land between the brothers. 

The petitioner is in jail for almost 271 days and the investigation is almost complete. The trial will begin immediately after filling of the final report. As investigation is almost complete, the petitioner can be released on bail.

The advocate on behalf of the state strongly opposed the bail as the matter was of serious nature as the accused had killed his own parents.

 The Hon’ble HC having regard to the gravity and nature of the offense as also the conduct of the petitioner rejected the bail plea.
