Azam Khan Receives Relief from High Court in Dual Birth Certificate Case, Sentence Suspended

Azam Khan, the National General Secretary of the Samajwadi Party, has been granted significant relief by the Allahabad High Court in a case involving dual fake birth certificates of his son, Abdullah Azam. The High Court has temporarily suspended the seven-year sentence previously meted out to him. Along with Khan, his wife and son have also been granted bail, although the suspension does not extend to their sentences.

Following the bail, Khan’s family may now leave jail. The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to both his wife and son, though the suspension of their sentences has not been applied. Azam Khan, Abdullah Azam, and Tanzeen Fatma were originally sentenced to seven years each by Rampur’s Special Court on October 18, 2023, for their involvement in the fake birth certificate case. They had challenged this decision in the High Court.
