The Ludhiana judicial magistrate, Ramanpreet Kaur, has issued an arrest warrant against Bollywood actor Sonu Sood. The court’s decision comes after Sood failed to respond to multiple summons regarding his testimony in a fraud case.
The case involves Ludhiana-based lawyer Rajesh Khanna and another individual, Mohit Shukla, in an alleged ₹10 lakh cryptocurrency scam. Khanna claims he was enticed into investing in a fraudulent scheme, leading to significant financial loss. While the specifics of Sood’s involvement are not detailed, he was summoned by the court to testify about the accusations linked to the case.
Despite the legal notices, Sood has not made any court appearances, prompting the magistrate to escalate the matter. The arrest warrant has been dispatched to the Oshiwara Police Station in Andheri West, Mumbai, with orders to arrest the actor and ensure his presence in court by the next hearing scheduled for February 10.
