Allahabad High Court Grants Bail to Nazim Raja Khan in Bareilly Violence Case

The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to Nazim Raja Khan, an accused in the Bareilly communal violence case from September last year, citing lack of evidence and prior bail granted to a co-accused.

The Allahabad High Court has extended bail to Nazim Raja Khan, one of the individuals named in the FIR registered following the outbreak of communal violence in Bareilly in September 2025. The single-judge bench of Justice Vivek Verma passed the order while hearing Khan’s bail application.

Khan was among 28 named and over 200 unnamed persons booked in the FIR relating to the incident. His counsel argued before the Court that Khan was falsely implicated and no credible evidence had been found linking him to the incident during the course of investigation.

It was further submitted that the unrest resulted in only two individuals sustaining simple injuries and that Khan played no active role in the alleged acts of violence.

The Court also took note of the fact that bail had previously been granted to another co-accused, Mustakeem, in the same case, and found parity in Khan’s circumstances. Based on these grounds, the Court found it appropriate to allow Khan’s bail plea.

The case pertains to communal disturbances in Bareilly in September 2025, following which large-scale arrests were made. The investigation is ongoing.
