The Allahabad High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Vivek Jaiswal, an accused in a massive ₹95 crore cyber fraud case allegedly orchestrated through a fake online gaming platform.
Justice Gautam Chaudhary passed the order last week, stating that in the event of Jaiswal’s arrest, he shall be released on bail. The court’s decision was based on assurances provided by the accused that he would fully cooperate with the investigation and trial proceedings and appear before the authorities as required.
The case stems from a large-scale cyber fraud busted by Azamgarh police, involving a gang that operated an online scam under the pretext of a gaming website named Cricket Buzz. According to police, the gang defrauded individuals of approximately ₹95 crore through 208 bank accounts, with around ₹1 crore already frozen.

The FIR was registered at the Cyber Crime police station in Azamgarh under various sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Public Gambling Act, and the Information Technology Act. Police had earlier arrested seven members of the gang from Pandeypur in Varanasi’s Badalpur police station area.
The gang reportedly used social media platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook to lure victims by promising to multiply their money through online games and tasks. Once the victims transferred money, it was siphoned off into fake accounts.
While granting relief to the accused, the High Court emphasized that the petitioner must remain cooperative with authorities and abide by all legal processes.
