Allahabad and Lucknow Lawyers Also to Boycott Work on November 4 Following Lawyer’s Assault Incident in Ghaziabad

In a unified stand against judicial and police overreach, lawyers from the Allahabad High Court Bar Association and the Awadh Bar Association in Lucknow have declared they will join the Ghaziabad Bar Association in a work boycott on November 4, 2024. This collective action is in response to an alarming incident in which a lawyer was reportedly assaulted by police on the orders of a district judge in Ghaziabad.

The incident has resonated deeply within the legal community, prompting a broad response across several regions. “The assault on our colleague in Ghaziabad is a stark violation of legal professional protections and warrants a collective response from our community,” stated a representative of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association.
