Can an Arbitrator Modify Award on an Application Filed U/s 33 of Arbitration Act? Answers Supreme Court 

On Monday the Supreme Court ruled that an Arbitrator cannot modify an Arbitration award based on an application filed under Section 33 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.  The award can only be modified and corrected if there is an arithmetic and/or clerical error, according to the bench of Justices MR Shah and BV Nagarathna.
