The Central Government has notified the appointment of three judicial officers as Judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, nearly three months after their names were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium.
According to the announcement made by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, the President of India, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, has appointed Chirag Bhanu Singh, Bhupesh Sharma and Yogesh Jaswal to the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
While Chirag Bhanu Singh has been appointed as a Judge of the High Court, Bhupesh Sharma and Yogesh Jaswal have been appointed as Additional Judges.
The appointments follow the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium at its meeting held on June 2, 2026. The Collegium had approved the proposal to elevate all three judicial officers to the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
The three judicial officers recommended by the Collegium were:
- Chirag Bhanu Singh
- Bhupesh Sharma
- Yogesh Jaswal
With the Presidential appointments now made, the recommendation concerning the three judicial officers has received the Centre’s clearance.
