The Central Government has submitted before the Supreme Court that it cannot provide 4 lakh rupees to COVID-19 victims as compensation. Families of Covid victims cannot be compensated since the law only applies to natural calamities, the government submitted beofre the Supreme Court, adding that states cannot afford to pay 4 lakh to each victim.
