SC Collegium Recommends Appointment of Seven Additional Judges of Kerala High Court as Permanent Judges

The Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, has approved the proposal for the appointment of seven sitting Additional Judges of the Kerala High Court as Permanent Judges. This recommendation marks a significant step in strengthening the permanent bench of the High Court.

Details of the Recommendation In its official statement released today, the Collegium listed the following Additional Judges whose appointments as Permanent Judges have been approved:

  1. Shri Justice Abdul Hakhim Mullappally Abdul Aziz
  2. Shri Justice Syam Kumar Vadakke Mudavakkat
  3. Shri Justice Harisankar Vijayan Menon
  4. Shri Justice Manu Sreedharan Nair
  5. Shri Justice Easwaran Subramani
  6. Shri Justice Manoj Pulamby Madhavan
  7. Smt. Justice Marakkaparambil Bhargavan Snehalatha

The Collegium system, which comprises the Chief Justice of India and the senior-most judges of the Supreme Court, is responsible for recommending appointments and transfers of judges in the Higher Judiciary. The proposal for the permanent appointment of these judges was considered and approved in the meeting held on February 12, 2026.

Following this recommendation, the file will be processed by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice, after which the President of India is expected to issue the warrants of appointment.
