The Delhi High Court has issued a new administrative order effecting the transfer and posting of several Judicial Officers within the Delhi Judicial Service. The order, dated December 4, 2025, directs immediate changes in the assignments of five judicial officers across various districts.
In a significant administrative move, the Delhi High Court, through Order No. 50/DHC/Gaz/G-7/VI.E.2(a)/2025, has announced the transfer and posting of judicial officers with immediate effect. The decision was taken by the Hon’ble Chief Justice and the Hon’ble Judges of the Court to streamline the functioning of the subordinate judiciary in the capital.
Details of the Transfers and Postings
According to the official notification issued by the Registrar General, Mr. Arun Bhardwaj, the following judicial officers have been transferred:
- Mr. Mridul Gupta
- From: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), South District, Saket Courts.
- To: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), New Delhi District, Patiala House Courts (PHC).
- Remarks: He has been posted in a vacant court.
- Ms. Niharika Kumar Sharma
- From: Senior Civil Judge-cum-Rent Controller (SCJ-cum-RC), Shahdara District, Karkardooma Courts (KKD).
- To: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), South District, Saket Courts.
- Remarks: She replaces Mr. Mridul Gupta.
- Ms. Pragati
- From: Senior Civil Judge-cum-Rent Controller (SCJ-cum-RC), South-West District, Dwarka Courts.
- To: Senior Civil Judge-cum-Rent Controller (SCJ-cum-RC), Shahdara District, Karkardooma Courts (KKD).
- Remarks: She replaces Ms. Niharika Kumar Sharma.

Directives on Reserved Judgments
The High Court has issued specific instructions regarding cases where judgments or orders have already been reserved by the transferred officers. The order states:
“The judicial officers under transfer shall notify the cases in which they had reserved judgments/orders before relinquishing the charge of the court in terms of the posting/transfer order. The judicial officers shall pronounce judgments/orders in all such matters on the date fixed or maximum within a period of 2-3 weeks thereof, notwithstanding the posting/transfer.”
Furthermore, the Court has directed that the date of pronouncement must be notified in the cause list of both the court to which the matter pertains and the court to which the judicial officer has been transferred, as well as on the official website.
The judicial officers will remain under the control of the Principal District & Sessions Judge of the district to which they have been allocated.
