“Experience gives wisdom, but structured training refines and channels that wisdom into effective leadership” — Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh
The Inaugural Session of Two Weeks Orientation Course for the Newly Promoted District Judge (Entry Level) 2025, from 06th October 2025 to 17th October 2025, was held today at Vivekananda Auditorium of Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy, Bilaspur, under the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice High Court of Chhattisgarh & Patron-In-Chief Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy.
Hon’ble the Chief Justice shared his words of wisdom with the trainee Judges. He underlined the significance of integrity, sensitivity, and commitment to constitutional values in judicial functioning and encouraged the Judges to constantly remain students of law while discharging their duties with humility and compassion.

He highlighted that in recent times, Chhattisgarh Judiciary has witnessed a transformation in judicial working—e-filing, virtual hearings, digital records, and AI-assisted tools. Judges must not only adapt to these changes but lead by example in integrating these advancements to make justice more accessible and efficient. Judicial learning is lifelong, and humility is its companion. Uphold the majesty of the law and the faith that people have reposed in the judiciary.
The Chief Justice emphasized that the role of a District Judge is both dignified and demanding. District Judges’ courtrooms are often the first and crucial point of interaction between the common citizen and the justice delivery system. Thus, the responsibility District Judges shoulder is profound. The position of a District Judge is a matter of great honour, but it also carries enormous responsibility. At this stage of their career, learning takes on a new dimension. Experience gives wisdom, but structured training refines and channels that wisdom into effective leadership.
In conclusion, the Chief Justice urged District Judges to “approach this course with an open mind — to learn, to reflect and to share your own experiences. Judicial learning is a continuous journey. It is not confined to books or precedents alone, but extends to the values we embody, the sensitivity with which we handle cases, and the dignity with which we conduct our courts. Always remember that the office you hold is not a symbol of authority but of service — service to the Constitution, to Justice, and to Society.”
Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Rajani Dubey, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh & Chairperson, Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy, also graced the occasion.
The Two Weeks Orientation Course for the Newly Promoted District Judges was designed to equip them with foundational knowledge, practical skills, and judicial temperament. The curriculum covered diverse areas including substantive and procedural laws, use of technology in courts, case management, ethics, and sensitivity towards vulnerable sections of society. The training further emphasized effective courtroom management and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
The event was attended by the Registrar General and other Registry Officers of the High Court. The welcome address was delivered by the Director of Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Additional Director of the Academy.
