The Delhi High Court on Wednesday took cognisance of a plaint filed by the two children of actor Karisma Kapoor, challenging the purported will of their late father, businessman Sunjay Kapur. Justice Jyoti Singh issued notice to their stepmother Priya Kapur and directed her to file a detailed reply.
The court instructed Priya Kapur to submit her response within two weeks and also produce a complete list of all movable and immovable assets in her knowledge, as of June 12 — the date of Sunjay Kapur’s demise. The rejoinder, if any, is to be filed within one week thereafter. The matter has been listed for further hearing on October 9.
“The Defendant No. 1 (Priya Kapur) will file a list of all movable and immovable assets known to her, assets to be declared as of June 12. Next date of hearing is October 9,” Justice Singh ordered.

In their plaint, the petitioners alleged that neither their father nor Priya Kapur had ever mentioned the existence of any will during Sunjay Kapur’s lifetime. They contended that the conduct of Priya Kapur “without a doubt” indicates that the will was fabricated.
