Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Moves Delhi HC to Restrain Misuse of Name, Images, and AI-Generated Porn Content

Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection of her personality and publicity rights, and an injunction against the unauthorised use of her name, likeness, and AI-generated pornographic images.

The matter came up before Justice Tejas Karia on Tuesday, who orally indicated that he would pass an ad-interim order cautioning the defendants.

Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, appearing for Rai along with advocates Pravin Anand and Dhruv Anand, submitted that the actor’s images and persona were being misused online, including through the circulation of fabricated intimate photographs. “There can be no right in their favour to use her images, likeness or persona. A gentleman is collecting money merely by putting my name and face,” Sethi argued.

He further told the court, “Her name and likeness is being used to satisfy someone’s sexual desires. This is very unfortunate.”
