New Delhi: The Central Government has issued a notification, dated August 18, 2025, confirming the appointment of Smt. Ramesh Kumari as an Additional Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The appointment was made by the President of India in accordance with the powers granted under the Constitution of India. Smt. Kumari will serve in this capacity until her date of superannuation in June 2027.
The appointment was formalized through a notification (No. K-13029/02/2025-US.I) issued by the Ministry of Law & Justice, Department of Justice (Appointments Division). The communication, signed by Jagannath Srinivasan, Joint Secretary to the Government of India, was directed to be published in the Gazette of India, Part 1 Section 2.
The notification explicitly states the constitutional provision under which the appointment has been made. It reads:

“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Smt. Ramesh Kumari, to be an Additional Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court from the date she assumes charge of her office till 09.06.2027 i.e. the date of her superannuation on attaining the age of 62 years.”
