The Bombay High Court on Wednesday directed the Maharashtra government to file its response by June 15 to a petition filed by Satish Salian, father of the late celebrity manager Disha Salian, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into her death and the registration of an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray.
A division bench comprising Justices S.V. Kotwal and S.M. Modak passed the direction during the hearing of Salian’s plea, which alleges that his daughter was “brutally raped and murdered” and claims her death was part of a larger political conspiracy involving influential individuals.
Disha Salian, who had managed several celebrities including actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Malad, Mumbai. The Mumbai Police had registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) at the time and concluded that it was either a suicide or accidental fall.

However, six days later, on June 14, Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence, triggering a wave of public speculation about possible links between the two deaths and allegations of foul play.
In his plea, Satish Salian has accused the police of prematurely closing the case without giving due weight to crucial forensic evidence, circumstantial factors, and potential eyewitness testimony. He contends that the investigation was superficial and influenced by political pressure to shield prominent figures.
