The Central Government has notified the appointment of judicial officers Sanjay Parihar and Shahzad Azeem as Judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Their elevation follows the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium on April 16, 2025. After evaluating their service records and merit, the Collegium found both officers suitable for appointment to the High Court bench.
Sanjay Parihar and Shahzad Azeem are experienced members of the judiciary in Jammu & Kashmir, having handled significant judicial and administrative responsibilities during their careers. Their addition to the High Court is expected to enhance its efficiency in handling the rising number of cases across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The Ministry of Law and Justice issued the official notification, marking the completion of the appointment process initiated by the Collegium’s recommendations.
