“Kam Bola Kar Agar Jeena Chahta Hai”: Judge Threatened in Broad Daylight in Dwarka

In a disturbing breach of law and order, a judge was threatened with death by unidentified assailants in Delhi’s Dwarka area, prompting police to initiate a criminal investigation. The incident occurred on April 1 in Kakrola village, where the assailants used a car to tail the judge and issued a chilling threat.

According to the FIR lodged at Dwarka North police station, the judge, identified as Shiv Kumar, was walking towards Akshay Public School when a grey WagonR approached him from behind at high speed. The vehicle had two young men — one driving and the other seated beside him.

Judge Shiv Kumar told the police that the car halted approximately ten meters behind him near a book warehouse, and the occupants repeatedly honked the horn to get his attention. As he turned to look, one of the men shouted, “Tu bachkar reh le, hum goli maar diya karen. Kam bola kar agar jeena chahta hai” (“Be careful, we shoot people. If you want to live, speak less”).

After issuing the threat, the car sped off in a zig-zag manner towards Akshay Public School and then took a turn towards the Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic and a nearby government co-educational school. The entire sequence of events was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity.

The Delhi Police have launched a probe and are analyzing footage from several CCTV cameras in the area. Efforts are underway to trace the vehicle’s registration number and identify the owner and occupants.

This incident follows closely on the heels of another shocking episode that occurred on April 2 at the Dwarka Court complex. In that case, a female judge was publicly threatened inside the courtroom after pronouncing a verdict in a cheque bounce case. The convict, enraged by the decision, reportedly yelled at the judge, saying, “Tu hai kya cheez… baahar mil, dekhte hain kaise zinda ghar jaati hai” (“What are you… meet me outside, let’s see how you return home alive”). Both the convict and his lawyer allegedly tried to intimidate the judge continuously during the proceedings.

The back-to-back incidents have raised serious questions about the safety of judicial officers, especially in and around court premises. Legal fraternities and judicial staff have expressed concern and are demanding urgent security enhancements.

The police have assured that investigations in both cases are ongoing and that efforts are being made to ensure the protection of judicial officers performing their duties.
