Beed Sarpanch Murder: Accused Sudarshan Ghule Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody

In a recent development in the Beed sarpanch murder case, a local court has ordered Sudarshan Ghule, accused of the murder of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, to 14-day judicial custody. The decision was made on Friday by the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court, where Ghule appeared via video conference.

Santosh Deshmukh, the sarpanch of Massajog, was tragically abducted, tortured, and murdered on December 9. The incident, which has shocked the local community, is believed to have been motivated by Deshmukh’s efforts to thwart an extortion scheme targeting an energy firm in the area. In response to his murder, authorities have filed charges of murder and extortion.

The investigation has led to the arrest of seven individuals in connection with Deshmukh’s murder. Additionally, Walmik Karad, known to be a close associate of Maharashtra minister Dhananjay Munde, has been apprehended under suspicions related to the extortion case.
