Rajasthan High Court Justice Rajendra Prakash Soni Passes Away Suddenly in Jodhpur

In a tragic turn of events, Justice Rajendra Prakash Soni of the Rajasthan High Court passed away late Friday night due to a sudden cardiac arrest in Jodhpur. His untimely death has sent shockwaves through the legal community.

Justice Soni, who was known for his dedication and legal acumen, was at the forefront of several judicial reforms during his tenure. He was rushed to a private hospital in Jodhpur after experiencing chest pains and severe distress, where despite exhaustive efforts by medical professionals, he was declared deceased at around 2:15 AM.

The legal fraternity is preparing to bid farewell to Justice Soni, with his funeral procession set to begin from his residence on Saturday, making its way to the Kaga Cremation Ground. The event is expected to see a large turnout, including judges, judicial officers, and numerous members of the bar.

Justice Soni’s career was marked by his rise through the ranks of the Rajasthan Judicial Services. After completing his law degree from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, he served as a civil judge and was later promoted to various significant positions such as the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Ajmer, and subsequently as District and Sessions Judge across various jurisdictions including Bharatpur, Jaipur, and Jodhpur.

Appointed as a High Court Justice in January 2023, Soni had also contributed as the Registrar (Administration) at the principal bench of the Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur. His contributions to the judicial system, especially in handling complex civil and criminal cases, have left an indelible mark.

Justice Soni is survived by his father, Ramchandra Soni, a businessman, and his mother, Parmeshwari Devi. His passing is not only a loss to the judiciary but also to the many who were influenced by his profound understanding of the law and his commitment to upholding justice.
