The Karnataka High Court has heard the bail plea of former MP Prajwal Revanna, who is currently in judicial custody on charges of rape and sexual harassment filed by the Holenarasipur Town Police Station and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The court, presided over by Justice Krishna S. Dixit, issued a notice to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) after deliberating on the petitions submitted by Revanna.
Prajwal Revanna, who is detained on these serious charges, sought regular bail through the applications. However, objections were raised by the High Court Registrar regarding the proceedings, leading to a postponement of the hearing. It’s noteworthy that while CID has registered a second FIR related to similar allegations, Revanna has not yet been arrested in connection with this second case, prompting him to apply for anticipatory bail.
During the proceedings, the court queried whether anticipatory bail could be granted based on the FIR filed by the CID. Subsequently, the hearing was adjourned after the court directed the government to file objections regarding the bail application.
