Whether Irregularity in Cognizance Order Vitiates Criminal Trial? Answers Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has ruled that irregularity in order taking cognizance would not vitiate the proceedings in a criminal trial. A Bench of Justices DY Chandrachud, Vikram Nath, and BV Nagarathna made this observation in an appeal filed against a Karnataka High Court judgment that dismissed the appellant’s plea that sought quashing of criminal cases
