“We have to protect Lawyers Too” SC Approves Conviction of Journalists Who Published Defamatory Content Against Lawyers

While refusing to grant relief to a journalist convicted in 2015 for publishing defamatory articles about an Advocate, the Supreme Court made remarks on Friday about the journalist’s language in the impugned articles.  A Bench comprised of CJI NV Ramana, Justice Surya Kant, and Justice Hima Kohli refused to hear the Journalist’s special leave petition
