Virtual Inauguration of Digitization Centres in Five District Courts of Chhattisgarh: Surguja, Balrampur, Jashpur, Korea, and Surajpur

11th June, 2025: In a momentous stride towards the modernization of the judiciary in the State of Chhattisgarh, Digitization Centres were virtually inaugurated in the District and Sessions Courts of Surguja at Ambikapur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Korea at Baikunthpur, Jashpur, and Surajpur. The event marked a significant milestone in advancing transparency, accessibility, and efficiency in judicial administration.

The ceremony was presided by Hon’ble Shri Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh, whose visionary leadership has been instrumental in steering the judiciary towards inclusive digital transformation. His Lordship formally inaugurated the Digitization Centres and addressed the gathering with a message that was both reflective and forward-looking, applauding the collective efforts behind this initiative and reaffirming the judiciary’s commitment to paperless, efficient justice delivery.

The event was also graced by virtual presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh, Chairman of the Computerization Committee and Portfolio Judge for Ambikapur and Baikunthpur; Hon’ble Shri Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Member of the Computerization Committee.

Portfolio Judges of Balrampur-Ramanujganj and Surajpur, Other Hon’ble Judges of the High Court,Members of the Computerization Committee, and Portfolio Judges of the respective Districts, Registrar General, Officers of Registry witnessed the programme through the virtual link provided. 

Also present were Principal District and Sessions Judges, Judicial Officers of the five districts, District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police, Presidents and Members of Bar Associations, the Digitization Teams and court employees.

In his inaugural address, Hon’ble the Chief Justice emphasized the transformative impact of digitization on the justice system—enhancing productivity, ensuring data security, enabling quicker access to records, and substantially reducing physical storage burdens. His Lordship highlighted that such initiatives would pave the way for paperless courts, ultimately ensuring faster and more transparent justice delivery. Hon’ble the Chief Justice also reflected emotionally on the progress made by the State Judiciary since his assumption of office, expressing satisfaction at the strides taken and confidence in future achievements.

In his remarks, Hon’ble Chief Justice commended the timely execution of the project and reaffirmed the High Court’s continued dedication to monitoring and supporting the digital initiatives. The leadership of the Committee for Computerization was lauded for its constant oversight and hands-on engagement throughout the establishment of the Centres.

The Principal District & Sessions Judge, Surguja at Ambikapur expressed his gratitude for the infrastructural upgrade, affirming their resolve to uphold and effectively utilize the digitized systems to better serve the public. The programme concluded with a warm vote of thanks proposed by Principal District and Sessions Judge, Korea at Baikunthpur.

This inauguration reflects the continuing efforts of the High Court of Chhattisgarh to bring about sustainable and citizen-friendly improvements in the judicial infrastructure of the State—ensuring that the courts are not only centres of justice but also exemplars of modernity and efficiency.
