Important cases heard by the Supreme Court on Thursday, Jul 6:
*SC agreed to hear on July 10 a plea filed by the Delhi government challenging the constitutionality of the ordinance on control of services.
*SC awarded life sentence to four convicts of the 1996 Lajpat Nagar bomb blast case for the remainder of their lives without remission, citing the severity of the offence.
*Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia moved SC seeking bail in the CBI and ED cases arising out of the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.
*SC refused to entertain a plea by two Manipur residents against repeated internet shutdowns in the state rocked by ethnic violence and gave them the liberty to approach the high court on the matter.
