Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Transfers of Bombay and Telangana HC Chief Justices

In a significant development on January 7, 2025, the Supreme Court Collegium made key recommendations for the transfer of Chief Justices of various High Courts. This move is seen as part of the ongoing process to enhance judicial accountability and effectiveness across the Indian judiciary.

The Collegium, under the guidance of its current members, decided to recommend the transfer of two prominent Chief Justices. Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, currently serving at the Bombay High Court, is slated for a transfer to the Delhi High Court.
