Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Justice Shree Chandrashekhar as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has proposed the appointment of Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, currently serving as a judge of the Bombay High Court, as the next Chief Justice of the same court.

Justice Chandrashekhar, whose parent High Court is Jharkhand, was recommended for elevation during the Collegium meeting held on Monday. The recommendation has been forwarded to the Union Government for approval and subsequent issuance of a presidential notification.

If cleared, Justice Chandrashekhar will succeed the incumbent Chief Justice and assume leadership of the Bombay High Court, one of the largest and most prominent High Courts in the country.
