New Delhi, May 28, 2025 — The Supreme Court collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, has recommended a series of transfers involving Chief Justices of four High Courts as well as other senior judges. The decisions were made during a collegium meeting held on May 26, 2025.
Transfer of Chief Justices
According to the resolutions uploaded on the Supreme Court’s official website, the following Chief Justices have been recommended for transfer:
- Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, currently Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, is to be transferred to the Madras High Court.
- Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Chief Justice of Tripura High Court, is recommended to be transferred to the Telangana High Court.
- Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao, serving as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, is recommended for transfer to the Tripura High Court.
- Justice K.R. Shriram, currently at the Madras High Court, is recommended for transfer to the Rajasthan High Court.
Additional Judicial Transfer
The collegium has also recommended the transfer of Justice Tadakamalla Vinod Kumar, currently serving at the Telangana High Court, to the Madras High Court.

Profile: Justice T. Vinod Kumar
Born on November 17, 1964, Justice T. Vinod Kumar hails from Suryapet in Nalgonda district. He completed his early education in Suryapet and Hyderabad, before graduating with a B.A. and LL.B. from Osmania University.
He began his legal practice in 1988, enrolling with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh, and joined the chambers of senior advocate Ravi. His career in public law service includes appointments as senior standing counsel for Income Tax (2015) and special standing counsel for Commercial Tax (2016).
Justice Kumar was elevated as a Judge of the Telangana High Court and took oath on August 26, 2019.
