SC Collegium Recommends Appointment of Justice Harish Tandon as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court

New Delhi, March 6, 2025 – The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice Harish Tandon, currently serving as a Judge in the Calcutta High Court, as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court. This decision follows the retirement of former Chief Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh on January 19, 2025.

Justice Tandon, who has served as a Judge in the Calcutta High Court since April 13, 2010, is ranked seventh in the All-India Seniority List of High Court Judges, including Chief Justices. His extensive experience in civil law and his tenure as a senior puisne judge in the Calcutta High Court have contributed to his selection for the prestigious role.
