SC asks Centre to seek Finance Commission’s view on regulating freebies promised by political parties

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court asked the Centre to get the Finance Commission’s view on the issue that if the revenue allocation to States could account for freebies announced by political parties just before elections, in order to influence the voters.
