Regardless of Gender, Judges Should Be Addressed As ‘Sir’ Not “My Lord or Your Honour”: Gujarat HC Chief Justice Sonia Gokani

Recently, the Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court Justice Sonia Gokani observed that the right way to address a judge is to call them Sir and it doesn’t matter even if the judge is a woman. Justice Gokani made the observation after a lawyer appearing before the Bench kept addressing the Bench as your ladyship.
