Pre-Marriage GPF Nomination Becomes Invalid Upon Acquiring Family; Benefits to be Distributed Equally Between Wife and Mother: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has held that a nomination made by a government employee for the General Provident Fund (GPF) becomes invalid if the subscriber subsequently acquires a family, even if the nomination is not formally altered. The Court ruled that in such cases, the GPF amount must be distributed equally among the eligible family members
