Police Book Woman for Allegedly Forging Court Documents in Matrimonial Case

Chandigarh Police have registered a case against a Bathinda resident for allegedly forging and fabricating court documents in connection with a matrimonial dispute.

According to the complaint, the couple married in 2015 and had a child in 2018. In July 2022, the woman is said to have left the matrimonial home without providing any explanation and subsequently began filing criminal cases against her husband.

The complainant stated that he had agreed to her demands, which included a proposed settlement of ₹2.85 crore. However, in October 2024, she filed a transfer application before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, allegedly submitting a forged and tampered copy of a mutual divorce petition pending before a Bathinda court.
