In a recent judgment, the Meghalaya High Court has held that the mere absence of witnesses to an incident of sexual assault cannot be considered grounds to let the accused off the hook. The case involved the appellant, Arjun Das, who was convicted under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)
