The Supreme Court recently observed that PILs are becoming an instrument for blackmail when it comes to infrastructure/building projects. The Bench of CJI Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha made the observation while hearing an appeal filed against a Bombay High Court order that imposed a Rs 1 lakh cost on a society (Sarthi Seva Sangh).
