PIL in SC Challenging Appointment of Arun Goel as Election Commissioner

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the appointment of Arun Goel as Election Commissioner.  The petition was filed by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) through Advocate Prashant Bhushan, who argue that the appointment is arbitrary, violates the institutional integrity and independence of the Election Commission of India,
