Nationwide 90-Day Mediation Campaign to Settle Pending Cases Commences from 1st July 2025

In a significant step towards ensuring speedy and amicable resolution of disputes, the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), in collaboration with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, is starting a 90-day special mediation drive – Mediation ‘For the Nation’ from July 01, 2025.

The objective of the 90-day mediation campaign is to settle the pending matrimonial dispute cases, accident claim cases, domestic violence cases, cheque bounce cases, commercial dispute cases, service matter cases, criminal compoundable cases, consumer dispute cases, debt recovery cases, partition cases, eviction cases, land acquisition cases and other suitable civil cases in all the Taluka Courts, District Courts and High Courts of India.

Under the guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice – High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur and Patron in Chief – Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Bilaspur and under the direction of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay K. Agarwal, Judge – High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur and Executive Chairman – Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Bilaspur, to make the above campaign successful in the state of Chhattisgarh, has written to High Court Legal Services Committee, Bilaspur and all District Legal Services Authorities of the state for publicizing the campaign, identifying as many cases as possible for mediation, sending information to parties, and resolving as many cases as possible via mediation.

As per the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), time limits have been prescribed for identification of cases resolvable through mediation from the cases pending in Taluka Courts, District Courts and High Courts of India, sending information to parties, referring the case for mediation and sending information about the total number of cases identified for mediation to the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

According to this SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), the time limit for sending the information of successful cases through mediation to the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has been fixed on the dates of 04 August, 11 August, 18 August, 25 August, 1 September, 8 September, 15 September, 22 September.

The information of the total successful cases in the 90-day campaign will be sent to the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on 06th October 2025.
