Motor Accident Claim: Compassionate Appointment and Ex-Gratia Payment to Deceased’s Wife Does Not Disentitle Her from Compensation: Bombay High Court

The Bombay High Court has ruled that the receipt of compassionate appointment and ex-gratia payment by the wife of a deceased victim in a motor accident does not disentitle her from receiving compensation under the Motor Vehicles Act.  The decision was made by Justice Shivkumar Dige, who dismissed an appeal made by Reliance General Insurance
