More Than 51 Lakh Cases Disposed in National Lok Adalat Organized on Saturday

Under the guidance of Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority New Delhi (NALSA), and Justice Pritinker Diwaker, Chief Justice, Allahabad High Court/ Patron-in- Chief, Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (UPSLSA), the National Lok Adalat was organized in the State of Uttar Pradesh on 09.09.2023.

On 04.09.2023, a video conferencing meeting has been called by Sri Sanjay Singh-I, Member Secretary, Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, with all the Secretaries of District Legal Services Authorities, Nodal Officers, National Lok Adalat and all Chief Judicial Magistrates, Civil Court, Uttar Pradesh, to review the preparations for making the National Lok Adalat successful.

On date 05.09.20223, through video conferencing, the Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh has been directed to all the District Magistrates, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Additional Director General of Police (Crime), Additional Director General of Police (Prosecution and Secretary Home), Special Secretaries (Home) and all the Divisional Commissioners, Commissioners of Police, Zonal Additional Director General of Police, Regional Director General of Police, Senior Superintendent of Police/ Superintendent of Police etc. to provide their full cooperation in making the National Lok Adalat successful

As per the information received from the District Legal Services Authorities in the State of Uttar Pradesh, the details of the cases settled in the National Lok Adalat in Uttar Pradesh till 06:00 pm are as follows –

1. Pre-Litigation Matters- 42,77,285 

2. Pending Matters- 6,97,610 

3. Special Lok Adalat- 1,42,499 

    (Petty Offences) 

4. Total Disposal- 51,18,046

The National Lok Adalat was also organized in the High Court, Allahabad & its Lucknow Bench, whereby, total 652 cases were decided by the High Court and the settlement was Rs. 22,88,35,973. On this occasion, Mr. Justice Pritinker Diwaker, Chief Justice, Allahabad High Court/ Patron-in- Chief, Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (UPSLSA), Mr. Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta, Mr. Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi, Mr. Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra & other Hon’ble Judges were present.
