In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the transfer of 52 judges across various districts in Punjab. This move is part of a broader strategy to optimize judicial operations and address the workload effectively across the state.
The transferred judges have been directed to prioritize joining their new assignments promptly. However, judges currently handling cases involving legislators and Members of Parliament will continue in their respective positions until their replacements are ready to take over, ensuring a seamless transition in these sensitive cases.
The transfer orders have been disseminated to all District Session Judges and the Judicial Academy in Sector 43, Chandigarh. This recent wave of transfers follows a previous adjustment on August 9, where 24 judges were reassigned. Among these, 21 Civil Judges Senior Division were promoted to the position of Additional District and Sessions Judges.
