Madras High Court Advocates for Altruism in Organ Donation, Overturns Committee’s Rejection of Non-Relative Donor

In a recent judgement, the Madras High Court addressed the case of J. Rajkumar vs. The Authorisation Committee (Transplantation) and others (W.P.No. 13642 of 2024). The petitioner, J. Rajkumar, an Electrical Assistant in Indian Railways, aged 30, suffers from chronic kidney disease and is undergoing dialysis. He was advised to undergo a kidney transplant urgently.
