The Bombay High Court is set to begin live-streaming proceedings from select courtrooms, Chief Justice Alok Aradhe announced on Tuesday. The move follows a resolution passed by the Full Court and aims to enhance judicial transparency and public access to court proceedings.
The development came during a hearing before the Bench of Chief Justice Aradhe and Justice Sandeep V Marne, when Advocate Matthews J Nedumpara mentioned a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking live-streaming of proceedings in the High Court.
In response, Chief Justice Aradhe stated, “We have made substantial progress. The Full Court has passed a resolution for the live-streaming of certain courts. Technical arrangements are being made. First five courts will be live.”

The five courtrooms that will initially be live-streamed are:
- Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sandeep V Marne
- Justice R P Mohite-Dere and Justice Dr Neela Kedar Gokhale
- Justice M S Sonak and Justice Jitendra Shantilal Jain
- Justice Ravindra V Ghuge and Justice M M Sathaye
- Justice A S Gadkari and Justice Rajesh S Patil
The initiative aligns with the Supreme Court’s 2018 guidelines in Swapnil Tripathi vs Supreme Court of India, which endorsed live-streaming of court proceedings as a step toward greater judicial transparency. Bombay High Court joins the ranks of other High Courts such as Gujarat, Karnataka, and Orissa that have already implemented live-streaming for some of their benches.
