Lawyer/Notary Can’t be Prosecuted Under Notaries Act Without Prior Sanction of Centre/State: Karnataka HC

The Karnataka High Court has ruled that u.s 13 of the Notaries Act there is a bar on taking cognisance of a lawyer and the police have to take permission from Centre and State government to take cognisance and file a chargesheet. The Bench of Justice K Natarajan allowed the petition and quashed the proceedings
