In a tragic incident at the Telangana High Court on Tuesday, seasoned lawyer Pasnooru Venugopal Rao died of a heart attack while presenting a case. Rao, 66, was actively arguing before Justice Laxmi Narayana Alishetty at approximately 1:20 PM when he suddenly collapsed in the courtroom.
The distressing scene unfolded as Rao, who has been a practitioner at the High Court since 1998, began feeling uneasy during his submissions. Immediate efforts to assist him were made by fellow advocates, who administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in a desperate attempt to revive him.
Despite the swift response and emergency transport to Osmania Hospital, medical professionals were unable to save Rao, declaring him deceased upon arrival. The incident has sent shockwaves through the legal community, highlighting the intense pressures faced by legal professionals.

A Ravinder Reddy, President of the Telangana High Court Bar Association, confirmed the attempts made by the lawyers present to save Rao’s life but lamented that their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful. The Bar Association has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a highly respected member of their legal fraternity.
