JUST IN: Supreme Court Quashes Suspension of 12 BJP MLAs of Maharashtra 

The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly’s resolution of July 5, 2021, suspending 12 BJP MLAs for a year for alleged disorderly behaviour in the house, has been quashed by the Supreme Court on Friday.  The Court ruled that the resolution to suspend MLAs beyond the session’s end is “unconstitutional,” “illegal,” and “beyond the powers of the assembly.”
