Badaun, Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident has unfolded in Badaun district, Uttar Pradesh, where a junior civil judge was found hanging at her government residence on Saturday morning. The discovery of the body caused a stir within the police administration and prompted immediate response from senior judicial and administrative officials.
District Judge Pankaj Agarwal, DM Manoj Kumar, SSP Alok Priyadarshi, and other judicial officers rushed to the scene upon receiving the news. The police team had to break down the door of the residence to access the room where they found the judge’s body hanging. A forensic team was called in to examine the scene and collect evidence.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the judiciary and the community at large. The reasons behind the judge’s apparent suicide are yet to be determined, pending a thorough investigation by the police. The authorities have already informed the family members of the deceased judge.
The deceased, identified as Jyotsna Rai, originally from Mau district, had been posted in Badaun for the past year. This was her second posting after Ayodhya district. Rai lived alone in her government quarters. Neighboring judicial officers raised an alarm after they did not notice any activity from her residence since late Friday night. When repeated knocks on her door went unanswered, the police were alerted.
Upon arrival, law enforcement and a large number of judicial personnel found themselves facing a tragic scene. The police have since removed the body for post-mortem and have initiated an investigation, treating the case as a suicide.
