In a recent development, a Hyderabad court granted regular bail to prominent Telugu actor Allu Arjun, who was implicated in a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a woman during a stampede at the premiere of his film ‘Pushpa-2’. The II Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge issued the bail on Friday, setting the bail conditions which included two sureties each executing a bond of Rs 50,000.
Allu Arjun, identified as the eleventh accused in this case, has been directed to appear before the investigating officer on Sunday. His legal representative, Ashok Reddy, shared this information with reporters shortly after the bail was granted.
The case stems from a distressing event that occurred on December 4, where a 35-year-old woman died and her eight-year-old son was injured during a stampede-like situation at Sandhya Theatre. Fans had gathered in large numbers and chaos ensued as they attempted to catch a glimpse of the actor during the movie’s premiere.
Following the incident, a complaint was lodged by the family of the deceased, leading to the registration of a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station.
The actor was initially arrested on December 13 and subsequently released on interim bail by the Telangana High Court on December 14, a bail that was set to expire on January 10. Prior to the bail hearing, Allu Arjun had appeared before the court via video conference on December 27.
