Himachal Pradesh High Court Sets Winter Vacation Schedule, Ensures Continuity in Urgent Matters

The Himachal Pradesh High Court has officially released its winter vacation schedule, detailing a comprehensive plan for the closure of the court and the arrangement of a vacation bench to handle urgent legal matters during this period. The court will be on recess from January 13 to February 23, with specific dates set aside for hearings by designated judges.

According to a notification issued by the Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, although the court will be closed for a considerable duration, the vacation bench will actively hear cases from February 7 to February 9 to ensure that essential cases do not face undue delay.

The vacation bench’s operations are meticulously planned. Justice Bipin Chandra Negi will oversee cases during two separate periods: from January 13 to January 19 and again from January 20 to January 26. Following him, Justice Rakesh Kanthala will handle cases spanning from January 27 to February 20, with an additional session from February 3 to February 6.

Justice Ranjan Sharma is scheduled to preside over cases from February 10 to February 16. During these intervals, hearings are primarily scheduled for Fridays, with an exception in the week of January 13 to January 19 when proceedings will occur on Thursday, January 16.

Detailed Hearing Schedule by Justices:

– Chief Justice GS Sandhawalia will lead the bench on February 7, addressing critical cases that require immediate attention.

– Justice Ranjan Sharma will conduct hearings on February 14 and February 21, ensuring continuity in the judiciary’s operations.

– Justice Bipin Chandra Negi is set to preside over hearings on January 16 and January 24, focusing on urgent judicial matters.

– Justice Rakesh Kanthala will take charge of the hearings on January 31.
